Joaquin Torres Garcia is a national hero in Uruguay and was an innovator of art. All his creations are the result of Joaquin Torres Garcia's dissatisfaction. None of the avant-garde of the twentieth century fully convinced him. So he set about creating his own way of pictorially representing the world.
These Artsocks inspired by Torres-Garcia’s painting "Indoamerica" show several different motives from Indo-American culture. Just as Joaquin Torres Garcia created the world he wanted with his paintings, we too have the possibility to create our own life according to our wishes. The only thing we have to do is to take our fate into our own hands and take responsibility for our own actions.
